Liberals call for ‘revolution’ in response to leaked SCOTUS Roe v. Wade opinion – Several liberal Twitter accounts, some verified by the platform, have called for a “revolution” in response to a leaked Supreme Court document that suggests Roe v. Wade is on the verge of being overturned by the court.

“But here we are,” journalist Maria Shriver tweeted Monday night shortly after the Politico story on the leaked document was published. “So you say you want a revolution? Well we have one right here, right now.” – READ MORE

Inflation Nation: Experts warn rising prices are here to stay – Experts and investors warned inflation is likely to plague the United States for years to come, despite reassurance from President Biden and Fed Chairman Jerome Powell that it is transitory, or on track to decline in the next year.

Powell said in March he expects inflation to remain high through the middle of the year, but to “come down more sharply” next year. – READ MORE

Report: Fed to launch fastest rate hikes in 3 decades in desperate attempt to stave off recession – With concerns growing over an “inevitable” recession due later this year, the Federal Reserve plans to raise interest rates at its fastest clip in three decades, the Associated Press reported on Monday.

The maneuver, which will make it costlier to borrow everything, from a line of credit to a mortgage on a home, will also further strain Americans’ pocketbooks and likely weaken the economy. But it is considered the only way to potentially stave off the even harsher economic consequences of a wider recession. – READ MORE

Food Crisis: Millions of Tons of Grain Stuck in Ukraine as Russia’s War Blocks Exports –While Russia’s intensification of its war against Ukraine is disrupting food production, the product that has already been harvested can’t even be exported, a United Nations director has warned, claiming there are millions of tons of grain in the country “just sitting there”.

Regional director of the United Nations’ World Food Programme, Germany-based Martin Frick has said there are as much as four and a half million tons of grain just sitting at Ukrainian ports waiting to be exported. In comments reported by The Guardian, UN man Frick said: “None of the grain can be used right now. It is just sitting there… The world urgently needs these items of food from Ukraine.” – READ MORE

Food Bank Demand Soars (Again) As Inflation Crushes Working-Poor – The highest inflation prints in four decades have forced some Americans to flood food banks and pantries (again).

WSJ reports that Forgotten Harvest in Detroit has experienced a dramatic increase in demand. Since December, demand at the food bank has increased from 25% to 45%. In March alone, when energy and food prices soared, demand jumped 30% over the prior month. – READ MORE

Speed-Limiters Will Be Equipped In All-New EU Cars Beginning Next Month – On July 6, all new vehicles sold in Europe – including the UK – will be equipped with a speeder limiter as per new legal requirements to boost road safety.

The new speed limit assist system “will become mandatory on new cars in 2022 uses a forward-facing camera mounted on the car and the vehicle’s satellite navigation system to identify the speed limit and, if the car is exceeding it, to restrict the fuel flowing to the engine until the vehicle is at the limit speed,” British automobile magazine Autocar said. – READ MORE

Two Weeks To Flatten The GDP – What is it with these pundits and government spokespeople?

Two years ago, they were wildly exaggerating virus threats, canceling and censoring people who pointed out contrary evidence.

It was all about scaring people into compliance with a far-flung epidemiological experiment.

Now the tendency has swung the other way. No matter how bad the economic news is, the tendency is to downplay it, promise a turnaround soon, and otherwise claim that anyone who is worried is just being paranoid. We need only point to the claims from last fall that the inflation is merely “transitional.” Sure enough, it is easily the number one issue. – READ MORE

They Can Print Money, But They Can’t Print Food – Whenever there is some sort of a major crisis, our politicians normally attempt to solve it by spending money. But in this case, that isn’t going to work. Our leaders can try to throw billions or even trillions of dollars at the global food crisis, and they may even convince themselves that they are making a difference. However, the truth is that they simply cannot create food out of thin air. As I discussed last week, we are facing a worldwide nightmare of epic proportions. Fertilizer prices have spiked to absurd levels, extremely bizarre weather patterns are playing havoc with crop production all over the planet, and the war in Ukraine has caused a growing supply crunch that will not be resolved any time soon. There simply is no “magic wand” that our politicians can wave that will make this problem go away.

Even before 2022 came along, global food supplies were getting really right. In fact, it is being reported that more than 800 million people did not have enough food to eat in 2020… – READ MORE
