“Given where we are with disease transmission right now, we would say that people need to take these risks into their own consideration as they think about traveling,” Dr. Rochelle Walensky said during a White House COVID-19 briefing Tuesday, adding that vaccinated people should wear masks. “If you are unvaccinated, we would recommend not traveling.” – READ MORE

NFLPA Opens Investigation After Jags’ Urban Meyer Says Vax Status Factored into Roster Cuts – Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer is under investigation by the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) after admitting that he factored players’ vaccination status into final roster cuts.

It’s no secret that the NFL has imposed tons of restrictions and limitations on unvaccinated players and has done just about everything short of mandating that players get vaccinated. However, they have not mandated that players receive the vaccine, and they have forbidden their coaches and execs from factoring vaccination status into roster and hiring decisions. – READ MORE

Is Biden Fudging the Numbers on Americans Left Behind in Afghanistan? – According to the Biden administration, no more than a couple hundred American citizens remain in Afghanistan. President Biden said in his speech on Tuesday that most are dual citizens with family ties to the country and many don’t want to leave.

But, according to a U.S. official who spoke with the Daily Caller last week, there are likely a lot more still in the country. He said at the time there were an estimated 8,000 Americans in the country and it was doubtful we’d get to bring them all home. According to one estimate, roughly 350 Americans were being evacuated daily alongside thousands of Afghans—meaning that if the U.S. official’s estimate that there were 8,000 Americans still in the country last week was correct, there’d be over 5,000 Americans left behind by the Biden administration—not a couple hundred. – READ MORE

Key Medicare Fund Will Be Insolvent in Just Five Years – Five years.

That’s how long until Medicare officially can’t pay all of its bills, according to the latest report on the program’s fiscal health. After that, without changes, the program will start to miss payments. Medicare is on track for a serious fiscal meltdown.

First, the gory details: Starting in 2026, the program’s Hospital Insurance (HI) Trust Fund, which covers a variety of inpatient hospital services, will be depleted, leaving the fund to operate on a cash-flow basis—and there won’t be enough cash coming into the program to pay all of the bills. Instead, the program will be able to pay about 91 percent of its tab, Medicare’s Trustees estimate. Without changes to the program’s financing structure, that percentage will shrink, leaving Medicare able to cover a smaller and smaller share of the costs associated with the HI fund. – READ MORE
