A signs warns customers line up to enter the Family Dollar store on Military Drive, Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021.

Here’s The Truth Behind Biden’s 24/7 Port Operations Pledge – When you tear away the frills of President Biden’s supply chain announcement, it is essentially a political pawn to push the infrastructure bill. The ugly truth is the congestion will not be alleviated anytime soon and it will definitely not be any better in the next 90 days. Why?

It’s common sense and math.

You can’t blame private-sector companies for this plan’s future letdown. Trade takes people and coordination among all the players within the supply chain. The ports and all of the stakeholders within these ports must be on the same page when it comes to a 24/7 operation. – READ MORE

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg on Paid Leave Since Mid-August amid Supply Crisis – As cargo ships congested at U.S. ports, creating an unprecedented supply-chain crisis, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg was on paid leave to spend time with his husband, Chasten, and their two newborn babies.

After weeks of people questioning Buttigieg’s whereabouts as crisis after crisis mounted, Politico’s West Wing Playbook confirmed on Thursday that the transportation secretary was “lying low.” – READ MORE

Empty Christmas Stockings? Don’t Blame COVID, Blame California – The conventional wisdom from the left is that COVID is the reason that shipping containers are in the waters off California with no stevedores or truckers available to take care of them.

The implication, of course, is that if people would stop being selfish and take the vaccines, the whole problem would magically vanish. – READ MORE

Biden Pushing Vaccines For Small Kids: ‘Families Will Be Able To Sleep Easier At Night Knowing Their Kids Are Protected’ – Speaking on Thursday, President Biden pushed forward in his drive to vaccinate children ages five through eleven with the COVID-19 vaccine, despite polls showing that nearly half of American parents oppose the idea.

Biden Breaks Into Strange Yelling, Talks About the ‘Nasity Regime’ and ‘Chansgender Individuals’ – On Friday, the president traveled to the University of Connecticut to deliver a speech rededicating the Dodd Center for Human Rights. Named for the late Sen. Thomas J. Dodd — a prosecutor at the Nuremberg trials, which tried Nazis for their crimes during World War II — the center houses Dodd’s papers from the proceedings.

This should’ve been a slam dunk speech. Indeed, the Mansfield-Storrs Patch called it “personal” and “emotional.” Biden was there with his close personal friend, former Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd, Thomas’ son. What could possibly go wrong? – READ MORE

Biden’s ‘Financial Surveillance State’ Would Be More Intrusive Than Anyone Is Saying –This is the reason that the words “comprehensive reform” are the most dangerous words in Washington. Anything “comprehensive” usually means “too complex and too large to understand.” And “reform” is entirely dependent on one’s point of view. One person’s “reform” is another person’s “catastrophe.”

So when radical Democrats start getting enthused about “comprehensive IRS reform,” grab your wallets, draw the shades, and lock the door. No one’s bank account will be safe from scrutiny. And it’s likely to cost everyone as banks pass on the costs of the new “Financial Surveillance State” to consumers.  – READ MORE

Are You Prepared For The Mass Repricing Of Goods And Services? – Rising consumer price inflation is not going away. This, of course, is counter to the “transitory” argument made by Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell earlier this year.
