Inflation Expectations Surge Near Record Highs in Dallas Fed Survey – Inflation expectations among Texas manufacturers surged high in January, indicating that inflationary pressures have increased in recent weeks, data from the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas showed Monday.

The Dallas Fed’s monthly survey of manufacturing firms showed that 57.5 percent say they expect the prices of their products to be higher six months from now. Just 6.9 percent expect lower prices. – READ MORE

Through the entire COVID-19 endemic and pandemic, the remote island nation of Kiribati had managed to not have a single case of COVID-19 until Jan. 19, 2022.

Maryland county closes schools over COVID but opens ‘Equity Hubs’ where kids can meet in person to learn virtually – As four schools in Montgomery County, Maryland, have temporarily closed in response to surging COVID-19 cases, the school district is offering “Equity Hubs” where students can meet together in person to learn virtually.

Montgomery County Public Schools announced last week that Loiederman Middle School, Harmony Hills, Pine Crest, and Wheaton Woods elementary schools, and the autism program at Westover Elementary School will revert to virtual learning for 10 days beginning Monday. T-Mobile to terminate corporate employees who aren’t vaccinated by April – T-Mobile US Inc will fire corporate employees who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by April 2, according to an internal company memo posted on the independent blog TMOnews.com.

The blog said T-Mobile’s new policy was announced on Friday in an email from its human resource chief to all staff. It follows a U.S. Supreme Court ruling on Jan. 13 that blocked President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 vaccination-or-testing mandate for large businesses. – READ MORE


Small US Firms Hammered As Biden’s Free-N95-Mask-Handout Benefits Big Producers Only – Many U.S. residents will be able to find free masks at local retailers, pharmacies, and community health centers over the next few weeks following the federal government’s deployment of 400 million N95 masks to the general public from the Strategic National Stockpile.

Pete Buttigieg Slammed for Racist ‘Safety’ Cameras Notorious for Corruption, Inaccuracy – Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg is being criticized roundly for his plan to expand the use of “safety” cameras on roads nationwide, as drivers have complained that the camera systems are inaccurate and prone to abuse by political cronies.

Buttigieg introduced the plan last Thursday, describing the problem of road safety as one of fairness, noting that “people of color, Native Americans, low income communities, [and] people in rural areas, [are] more likely to die on our roads.” – READ MORE


‘We Kill The Batman’: Lori Lightfoot Mocked For Bizarre Bribe Attempt To Get People Vaxxed – Democratic Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has stepped up her campaign to promote the available COVID-19 vaccines, suggesting in a Thursday social media post that she planned to pay citizens to get the jab.

“The message is clear. Get vaccinated from the comfort of your home and this stack could be yours,” Lightfoot’s message read. The tweet included a photo of the Chicago Mayor standing next to the words “GET VAX’D” spelled out with 41 $20 bills, one $5 bill, and a folded $1 as an apostrophe — which adds up to a total of $826. – READ MORE
