Fauci Supports Vaccine Mandate For Domestic Air Travel Despite Admitting That It Won’t Make Flying Safer
Dr. Anthony Fauci spoke out on Sunday to support a COVID-19 mandate for domestic air travel despite also admitting that it won’t actually make air travel any safer.
While appearing on ABC News’s “This Week,” Fauci was asked about recent comments made by President Joe Biden, who said that a COVID-19 shot mandate for domestic air travel “isn’t necessary at this time.”
“Well, it depends on what you want to use it for. I mean, vaccine requirements for people coming in from other countries is to prevent newly infected people from getting in to the country,” Fauci replied, according to The Hill.
“A vaccine requirement for a person getting on the plane is just another level of getting people to have a mechanism that would spur them to get vaccinated,” he continued. “Namely, you can’t get on a plane unless you’re vaccinated, which is just another one of the ways of getting requirements, whatever that might be.”
Fauci went on to say that “anything that could get people more vaccinated would be welcome.” He also claimed that people should still wear masks on planes, despite various airline CEOs saying that they are not necessary because of sufficient air filtration systems inside aircraft. – READ MORE
