Chronic Shortages Of A Few Items Now Will Evolve Into Chronic Shortages Of Hundreds Of Products Later In 2022 – What we have witnessed so far is just the beginning of the story. The global response to the COVID pandemic during 2020 and 2021 created the most epic supply chain crisis in modern times, and now “black swan events” such as the war in Ukraine and the bird flu pandemic are making that supply chain crisis even worse. Unfortunately, more global difficulties are coming. There will be more war, there will be more pestilences, there will be more natural disasters, and even the United Nations is admitting that we are heading into the worst global food crisis since World War II. So if you think that global supply chain problems are severe now, just wait until you see what is coming next.

If you go into most major retailers today, you will notice that stock levels are lower than usual and there are some empty shelves. – READ MORE

Farm Crisis Hits Dakotas As Floods Delay Plantings, May Trigger US Food Shortage – In the last several weeks, farmers in the Northern Plains have been battered by blizzards, winter storms, high winds, and extreme flooding. These weather phenomena have delayed farmers from plantings in high-producing crop regions. Every week plantings are delayed, the harvest yield shrinks, and this comes at a precarious time as the global food supply chain is fracturing.

Private weather forecasters and ag specialist BAMWX warned about delayed plantings across the Northern Plains to Midwest to the Ohio Valley. Some farmers might not be able to plant until at least May as widespread above-average moisture, and widespread well below average temperatures inhibit farmers from working their fields. – READ MORE

Study–Diet Necessary to Save the Planet from Climate Change: Vat-Grown Milk, Culture-Grown Meat, and Bugs – A study from the University of Helsinki in Finland is suggesting that what people eat has to change in order to save the planet from climate change, including drastically cutting the consumption of meat and dairy products.

“The real take-home message is we have food pathways forward,” Rachel Mazac, a food systems researcher at the university and one of the paper’s authors, said. – READ MORE

Russia cutting gas supplies to Poland and Bulgaria – Russia is reportedly planning to halt all natural gas pipeline flows to Poland and Bulgaria, a significant escalation in the ongoing Ukraine crisis.

Russian energy giant Gazprom said it would stop sending natural gas to the two European Union member countries unless they agreed to pay for supplies in rubles, the BBC reported. The Polish government has previously refused to comply with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s requests that energy payments be made in rubles in the wake of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. – READ MORE

Is The Housing Market About To Crash? – COVID-19 and the lockdown-induced recession had enormous impacts on the American economy. Beyond the massive increases in federal spending, skyrocketing inflation, delayed supply chains, and unemployment, the shutdowns severely disrupted the housing market — making home ownership even less affordable for the middle class.

Now, the Federal Reserve is warning of a housing bubble as average home prices soar above half a million dollars. Are their fears justified? If so, what could that mean for your family? – READ MORE

Former WH COVID-19 coordinator says officials never promised vaccines would prevent infection – Former White House coronavirus response coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx said Wednesday that although more than half of Americans have been infected with the COVID-19 virus or vaccinated, the U.S. has still not met a herd immunity threshold to end the pandemic.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released data on Tuesday showing that nearly 60% of Americans have coronavirus antibodies in their blood. The number of children with COVID-19 antibodies is even higher — almost 75% of children 11 and younger have antibodies, providing at least some protection from the virus. – READ MORE
