Vaccine Passport Has Italian Parliament Erupt Into Chaos
A scuffle broke out on Thursday in the Italian Parliament as members of the national conservative Brothers of Italy (FdI) protested the passing of the coronavirus Green Pass.
The protest was led by Giorgia Meloni and members of the FdI in the Chambers of Deputies, the lower house of the Italian Parliament. The “Green Pass” would be required to enter certain indoor settings in Italy such as restaurants, gyms, and movies. Individuals would have to show that they are vaccinated or that they recently had a negative Covid-19 test result.
The FdI deputies left their seats and stood up holding signs that said, “No Green Pass.” Fabio Rampelli, The President of the Chamber suspended work for several minutes as a result of the protest. Video of the footage showed members of the party going to the floor of the chamber resulting in a brief scuffle.
Some members of the party defended the Green Pass claiming it gives more freedom.
“In this decree, no vaccination obligation is established and there are no limitations on personal freedoms. On the contrary, the Green Pass is a tool to move freely and safely.” – Andrea Mandelli
Populist senator Matteo Salvini however does not agree with the Green Pass and feels that it is unfair for those who still needed to wait to get vaccinated.- READ MORE
