I don’t – yet – but my daughter just came back to work with me – remotely from the Houston area. So I’ve been rolling the idea around…. And wondering about this group just a few hours ago, sharing with someone about Paine.TV – there are so few of us, but I have no other ‘community’….and I just keep hearing from multiple sources these days how we need to be pulling our communities closer now!!

I agree. We are few and far between! I just watched a YT video about the Lahaina incident that made me angry. Anyway, it’s the only way we will have a way to communicate with each other if we have any type of incident .

Ugh…there are SO MANY things to make us angry these days! The Maui genocide/destruction is just ‘beyond’ for me….along with the Jan 6ers….I just can’t let that go – and so many other things….

Hi. I don’t have one either. I remember Mike saying they can be traced.

Ugh….I think I remember Mike saying that too, but for critical communication what choice do we have – other than pulling our families/community together NOW and having a “when the SHTF” plan that doesn’t require that kind of communication?

I’ve looked into this and they aren’t too expensive, maybe $300 (ok expensive for me) but what made it impossible for me was the $50/month subscription for each phone, & I’d need 3, one for me & one for each kid. So $150/month for 3 phones. Can’t do it.

Yeah, if you need more than one, it is expensive! How about the bivy stick. Anyone have that? It works off of the Bluetooth connection to a phone.

What I’ve learned is that sat phones only talk to each other…. And thanks for the education on the bivy stick – I’ve been wondering what the heck that was!

Actually I spent some time researching Sat phones AND the Bivy stick…. A chat person at SatellitePhoneStore.com says Sat phones CAN call both land & cell phones – as long as they have service – and even if our smart phones go dead – as long as they are charged the Bivy App will work.

Soooooo….. the Bivy stick will work….not for calls, but texting – so communication! And for much less than a Sat phone. I’m finding divergent pricing…

Yes, the bicycle stick is very versatile! And much more cost effective.
