Recommended read: “Surprise, Kill, Vanish” by Annie Jacobsen. It’s all about the coups our government has orchestrated over the years. It sounds somewhat similar with Mike’s reporting regarding South Korea– and I’m only in the 1950’s!!!!! And despite it being very well sourced, when talking about the overthrow of Guatemala, she neglects to mention that John Foster Dulles, Secretary of State at the time & his brother Alan Dulles, head of the CIA, both had ties to United Fruit Company, which was the catalyst for the overthrow.
