Trish was taken off the life supports at 2:00 PM Monday afternoon (the hospital couldn’t even get the time right). Trish hung on for 8 hours, and went to her eternal home at 12:05 AM EST this evening (Tuesday). I held her hand and we played music for her until after her last breath. She was at peace, and there was no suffering. To all you faithful stalwarts, who so diligently held us up in prayer, and offered overwhelming and loving support, encouragement, and words of wisdom, I am in your debt beyond measure. You have kept us above the water line in so many ways. Your kindness and solidarity are truly and genuinely familial, going way beyond mere friendship. I am eternally grateful. I love you all. God bless you. “Now begins the task….”

Dana, It might not feel like it right now, but there will be powerful and lasting comfort in having zero regrets from knowing you did all you could. So few people get to truly say, and feel that – it’s much larger than just a testament to the quality human that you are – few other things, if any, really truly matter as much- in the end. Keep this thought high on the list – if or when it might be needed.

Prayers for strength, focus, and healing, Dana. My family shared this awful experience in the summer, and I so hoped your story would end differently. The anger doesn’t go away, but it does fade when finding our loved one in small moments of the day like deer in a foggy meadow at dawn, red cardinals against the bare trees, and pink clouds in the sky. May your anger keep you sharp and focused and propel you forward. You have the support of an amazing community behind you.

    My condolences. ❤️

Finding the right words in loss and grief can be especially difficult. Here is a prayer for you from Kiyoshi and family.

Father God, In the midst of Dana’s sorrow and grief, let him turn to You, the source of all comfort and peace. As he navigates through this journey of grief, may Your light shine through the cracks in his broken heart, reminding him of Your eternal love and the promise of a reunion beyond this life. Help Dana to find comfort in the memories of his loved one and the knowledge that they are in Your loving care. Dear Lord, as we acknowledge that grief is a heavy burden, we also know that You are the God of all hope, the One who can bring light to even the darkest of moments. Above all, may Dana find hope in the promise that Trish has eternal life through Your Son, Jesus Christ, knowing that she is in Your loving presence, free from pain and suffering.

    I Jesus’ name, I pray.

    Amen ❤️

What a beautiful way to say goodbye. To be passed from your hands to God’s hands forever and being loved so on both sides.

Trish is truly blessed with an amazing love.

May God’s grace sustain you and your family through this difficult change in your life.

Love to all of you and those who knew and loved Trish. 🙏♥️
