Thank you all so much. Y’all are the greatest! I just returned from seeing Trish. As of this afternoon things have “seemed” to have changed courses altogether. More careful scrutiny of Trish’s CT scan of her head, led the doctors to believe that the suspicious spots, thought to be strokes, might actually be strokes, but….they are possibly mini-strokes from the past that Trish never knew she had, therefore they are not the cause of her problems. They now think from lab work that the problem is in the liver. Seriously! Trish’s liver is suspected of not flushing itself of toxins. The toxins don’t just disappear; they have to go somewhere, and if they get to the brain via the bloodstream, you have a problem. They call it Hepatic Encephalopathy (say that three times fast.) Now the good news is, IF they are correct about the liver, there are medications for that; and, they are already treating her with one of them. But to be safe, they will be doing the MRI and a liver ultrasound tomorrow just to be sure. But IF a stroke is out of the picture, then that’s an answer to prayer, as two different Neurologists thought it was a stroke. When I hear more I’ll tell you more. Thanks again, so much for the prayers and good wishes.
