Have a Safe Memorial Day Weekend….

I posted this on the NC community page, but thought it appropriate here as well. Because of what the holiday is about, it’s hard to say, “Happy Memorial Day,” as there are probably very few of us who haven’t been touched in some way by the loss of war victims in our own families or among our friends. And while the burgers, hotdogs, and cold beverages are nice, we need to remember that this holiday cost this country more than all the rest of the holidays put together. Enjoy time with friends and families, and enjoy the day off if you get to take it, but tip your hat or cross your heart when you see those flags flying at half staff. And do be careful if you’re on the road this weekend. The State Police and many local law enforcement agencies have declared war on drunk drivers. I’m not pointing the finger at any of you, but that the Law will be out in force, tells us that they expect a lot of the intoxicated to be on the roads. So stay frosty, and keep those eyes on the other guys, and we’ll meet again back here next time.

Happy Memorial Day Dana! Ditto to the Paine Community. Great weather is forecasted here in SW Colorado. The camp sites and lake are open for the season.

Thanks and you are welcome. A Colorado Kodak moment that I was compelled to capture. 🙂

You say the lake is open? I always thought that Colorado doesn’t have water, it just has ice that isn’t solid yet.🥶 Different area of Colorado, but years ago I camped beside the Poudre River in Northern CO, and nearly froze to death in July. Did however, eat the very best rainbow trout on the planet there! It takes fish to a whole new level. Enjoy you’re holiday; you’re in a breathtaking place.

Dana, that is a view into Vallecito “small valley” in the vicinity of where the Movie City Slickers was filmed. A couple miles from our place. Have a good one!
