We are in relentless agreement for her full recovery and carry endless hope because it is anchored in the Loveliest land of all. Not yet though, dear hearts.

Now subsequent to my finding pus oozing from her original brain surgery incision, we’ve now been told, that poor Trish has a serious infection in and under said incision and must undergo a second surgery. This is to “clean out” the infection. The surgery will probably not happen today or tonight, as the Neurological operating rooms are booked, due to an overage of high priority emergency cases. The surgery is slated for tomorrow, but when, has not been told to me either. I’ll let you know what I know as soon as I learn it. Trish was in the worst state today that I have seen her in since I found her on the day of her original surgery. One of the neurosurgeons just called. Trish’s surgery tomorrow will be a full on brain surgery. They will have to remove that side of her skull once again to see if the infection is under it an in the brain as well. An MRI was performed and has been read. It shows “something” between Trish’s brain and her skull. It might just be residual blood or fluid from her previous surgery. It could also be infection. The only way to find out is removing the side of her skull. If they find there is infection in the bone, it cannot be replaced. The incision will be closed, and Trish would leave the hospital wearing a special kind of helmet, since she would only have skin over brain. They would have to have a plate of artificial bone custom made to fit the hole, and then bring her back for a third surgery to put it in place. Tomorrow they will open her up, clean out the infection, wash out the cavities with antibiotic fluid, and then culture the infected fluid/matter to determine the exact bacteria, so the exact antibiotic(s) can be found to kill it. Again, the surgery will be tomorrow, most likely in the afternoon, but they and we have no idea what time that might take place. More as I learn it. Please be in prayer for Trish; she’s in a bad way. There’s a lot more grisly and horrendous details to this story that I haven’t written, as I had no desire to ruin the suppers of people I love and respect. Trust me, idleness isn’t something by which I’ve been tempted of late. This infection necessitating the surgery isn’t happenstance or bad fortune.

Sending strength, faith & prayers for the surgical team to guide their hands for the best outcome as well, as of course, Trish & you Dana. Appreciate your updates & keeping the faith🙏

Yeah when you mentioned the pus, that was what I felt like was the root cause during prayers. Let’s go for keeping her bones so she doesn’t pull mariachi band songs in from the ethers at random. Thank you for the update.

Oh Dana…hang in there. God bless Trish with the strength to overcome these obstacles. I hope you can get some rest tonight and tomorrow greets you with miraculous news.

A best friend of mine, who recently passed way too soon with rapid onset Alzheimers, was an ER nurse. She basically said docs are taking their best educated GUESSES. Not really reassuring, but is a reminder that they’re only human. Which is scary in and of itself! But rest assured…these prayers going up to Jesus…WAY above the human pay grade. We’ll keep up the prayers for Trish, and you–hang in there fella.
