Halloween in Real Time….
No movie is as ever as scary as real life. On Thursday of last week, Trish was doing pretty good. In fact, a representative of the Rehab center to which Trish was to be transferred yesterday, had come to interview and assess her, and being quite pleased with her progress, offered her a place in the center. We were overjoyed. It’s a nice place, with a great physical, occupational, and speech therapy facilities. In fact I would even be able to bring our dogs to visit. Then Friday the bottom dropped out, and long story short, Trish was transferred back into the ICU. She is barely communicative most of the time. She has moments of clarity, but not for long. Another long story short, the hospital’s best and brightest have no clue as to why these events have turned in the direction they have. Remember, this is the same hospital that was doing their dead level best to throw her out last week. They feel the need to perform an MRI of Trish’s head, as subsequent CT scans of her head reveal nothing; no new bleeds, no stroke, no lesions…nothing of value in diagnosing the cause of this new development. She is too agitated and fidgety to get the MRI, so they tranquilize her, but in so doing, drop her blood pressure like dropping an anvil out of an airplane. 3 days, and multiple attempts later, still no MRI. All kinds of semi-logical to downright inane reasons have been given for Trish’s current condition. So far Covid has not been mentioned…thankfully for them. We’ve been living in the ICU, and are a little frayed around the edges, but still having to struggle to find reason and meaning in our endeavors to help Trish. The struggle is just as intense as it has ever been. I have finally seen the Kraken…for real. Sidney Powell doesn’t have a clue as to it’s real nature. It carries a stethoscope and logs billable hours. Happy Halloween y’all.
