Hail Mary…!
Wow, you ask people to pray for a miracle…. The neurosurgeon came in a little while ago and said the entire neurosurgery department has been brainstorming (bad pun) and wanted to try one more thing. They wanted to insert a needle into the swollen part of Trish’s head to drain off fluid. They weren’t going to be touching the brain, as the needle will go directly into the fluid sac under the skin. This, I was told, is not a fix, as she still cannot have the surgery she needs, but it “may” relieve some pressure, make her more comfortable and potentially even allow her to wake up some. This “may” buy Trish some time. They did it and got significant fluid off, finding out in the process that there isn’t high pressure inside of her head. If, when the needle is inserted, the liquid squirts out, that indicates high pressure. In Trish’s case, the fluid trickled out; that’s good. As a result, they have postponed “the meeting” until tomorrow. The doctors want to see the effects of the procedure that they did before making critical decisions. While this may not be a cure, but it does buy Trish one more day at the least. “…daily bread,” I believe is how it was put, and we’ll take what we can get, and be thankful for it. The infections are doing much better, and are not considered life threatening. They are now using less aggressive antibiotics on her. Thank you so much for praying. One day at a time….
