You are 100% correct, Dana. The people I know are stockpiling not just for themselves, but others who might need food down the line. The homesteader groups I am in also partner with others in surrounding counties. The conference I will attend in Henryville, IN next spring is led by a homesteading preacher. He said he plans to have gardens on his church grounds for people to be able to have a place to raise food. Self sufficiency has a much greater chance for success when everyone is working together as a network.
