Pre-hysteria logic dictated that fever, cough and/or diarrhea and associated symptoms were the appropriate conditions for transmission, when it came to the flu. So I think it’s just the virulence of the specific strain that was transmitted at your gathering. If it’s strong enough, I don’t think open doors and windows or non-cramped conditions would do anything to make it any better or worse. That’s my take on it. Someone at that party had it and was symptomatic and not saying anything about it, is my best guess.
