CDC says 4th COVID-19 booster dose may be needed for immunocompromised people – The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said in updated COVID-19 guidelines this week that some immunocompromised people may need a fourth dose of the vaccine.

The agency wrote that people who are over 18 years old who already received an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine primary series and received an additional mRNA vaccine dose may receive a single COVID-19 booster dose – Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson – at least six months following their third mRNA vaccine dose. – READ MORE

Unvaccinated Los Angeles city workers to fork over $130 a week for testing, given two more months to comply – Los Angeles city employees who have not been vaccinated will have to fork over $130 each week to cover COVID-19 testing but will have a longer deadline to get the shots or lose their jobs, according to a plan passed by lawmakers Tuesday.

City workers originally had until Oct. 20 to get fully vaccinated but now they have until Dec. 18. During the extended period, unvaccinated workers will have $65 deducted from their paychecks twice a week to cover the cost of weekly testing, or $260 per pay period. – READ MORE

NJ Republicans outraged over video alleging Phil Murphy will mandate vaccines if reelected –New Jersey Republicans are demanding that Gov. Phil Murphy speak out about his stance on COVID-19 vaccine mandates following the release of footage from inside the Democrat’s campaign that alleges “he will” require residents in the state to be vaccinated should he be elected to a second term.

“This extremely disturbing video appears to confirm what the Murphy campaign has been hinting at — and the NJGOP has been warning about — throughout the summer: that a second Murphy term will bring about the same type of vaccine passports seen in Bill de Blasio’s New York, burdening already suffering businesses and discriminating against minority communities in which immunization rates are lower,” said NJGOP executive director Tom Szymanski. – READ MORE

Dr. Deborah Birx Blames 30 to 40 Percent of Pandemic Deaths on Trump’s Negligence – President Donald Trump’s former coronavirus adviser, Dr. Deborah Birx, claims that 30 to 40 percent of the total coronavirus deaths could have been stopped had the White House been less focused on the 2020 election.

In closed-door testimony to the House Select Coronavirus Subcommittee this month, excerpts show that Birx claimed that up to 130,000 lives could have been saved if the administration had promoted mask-wearing and social distancing in the pandemic’s early days. ‘We Will Lose Several Thousand People’: Top Boss Warns Against Biden Vax Mandate – Raytheon Technologies Chief Executive Greg Hayes warned Tuesday of the thousands of employees he’ll lose due to President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate on all federal workers and some private businesses.
